The Local Investing Action (LIA) Network

As part of the Center for Community Ownership’s efforts to catalyze local and community-focused investment, we have launched the Local Investing Action (LIA) Network to support community leaders interested in cultivating their local investment ecosystems.

We have convened our inaugural cohort of 21 practitioners in 14 states across the U.S. to support their creation of projects to transform the local investing landscape in their communities.

LIA is supporting its members in forming local investment groups, creating community investment funds, developing platforms to facilitate investment, assembling educational resources, and working on other local and community investment projects.

How to get involved

Registration has closed for the 2023 LIA cohort, but if you are interested in participating in a future cohort please fill out this application form. LIA is welcoming and inclusive, and this form is not an evaluation of your “qualifications” to participate. It is just an effort to ensure that the network is a good fit with participant goals.

You do not need to already have experience with local or community investing to be a part of this network. You only need to be interested, committed, and action-oriented.

If you have any questions about LIA, or would like to learn more, please reach out.

Please note: There is a small cost to cover the delivery of this program. Accessibility is a fundamental goal, though, so a sliding scale is available to ensure that nobody is turned away because of affordability.
